Odisha goverment High school 9th and 10th standard students’ uniform color changed:

Bhubaneswar : Students studying in high schools of the state will get clothes, shoes and socks under the Chief Minister’s clothing scheme. Earlier only children of class 1st to 8th were getting this facility, now children of class 9th and 10th will get this facility. District and block level committees have been formed to distribute clothes, shoes and socks to high school children.

A child will be given two and a half clothes for Rs.500, a pair of shoes and two and a half socks for Rs.200, a T-shirt for Rs.125, and a pair of track pants for Rs.125. The state government will spend Rs 1,000 per child. The process of uniform collection and distribution will be completed by next 15th. On behalf of the Directorate of Secondary Education, an order has been issued to the District Collector, District Education Officer (DEO).

The color of the uniform of the ninth and tenth standard students of all government and aided high schools will be changed. Earlier the color of the uniform was white and dark blue, but now the students will wear ‘Hunter Green’. For boys there are floral pants and shorts, while for girls there are chudars-Punjabi and jacket clothes. All the dresses will have a logo ‘We will build a new Odisha’. Students will come to school in uniform for 5 days a week. Black shoes and white socks have been made compulsory for all.

Since 2010, the state government has been discussing various proposals to modify the dress code for teachers of primary, upper primary and high schools. This is the first time that a dress code has been introduced for teachers in these schools.
