Crops Destroyed Due To Low Pressure Rains: Farmers Are Selling Their Crops Cheaply; Pumpkin Rs 4 per Kg

INDIA : Heavy rains for the past two days have caused flooding in the Banki area, destroying the crops in the process. Farmer Singh has been forced to sell his pumpkins for 4 rupees each, in order to prevent his family from going hungry.

Pumpkins are a major crop in the Shimilipur, Kushpangi and Pathpur areas, so the farmers have brought their toli to sell. However, if the pumpkins cannot be stored for longer, the farmers will have to sell them for 4 rupees each.

Ludhiana is currently grappling with the aftermath of relentless downpours in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. This has led to an unprecedented crisis, as the prices of essential vegetables have hit astronomical heights. In a shocking turn of events, tomatoes have soared to an exorbitant retail price of ₹260 per kg, ginger commands an astonishing ₹300, and broccoli and capsicum have reached an alarming ₹400 and ₹200, respectively. This marks an alarming surge of up to 225% in vegetable prices.
